Ghanaian footballer, Afriyie Acquah has renewed his wedding vow to wife, Amanda in a short ceremony in Turin on Friday morning. The ceremony was attended by close family and friends.
The wedding was officiated by Pope Francis, whose long-awaited apostolic exhortation on the family will be published on April 8, and will be known by its Latin name, “Amoris Laetitia” (“The Joy of Love”), on love in the family.
According to sources, the Pope during the ceremony said: ” May God bless your union and make it grow stronger in the midst of adversities from near a far. May Amanda learn to support Afriyie for all the years to come without giving into temptations from rich men or more handsome men. ”
The footballer recently quashed media reports that his marriage with Amanda has been dissolved. The Torino star’s union Amanda has been speculated since last year after she was exposed in a leaked tape of sleeping with Ghana international teammate Jordan Ayew.
Local media reports on Wednesday claimed the pair has separated but Acquah Tweeted afterwards the publication was false.
He posted: “Please ignore the media rumours, regarding my marriage life. Back on Torino club duty. #FalseReports #HappilyMarried
